Support your friends and work harder to understand their POV..
It’s 2020 and more teenagers are taking their swing at entrepreneurship, music and art but what does that mean for you?
The Friend's POV
“Support your friends idiots, it's free" -Alana Brielle
As a friend you should always be down to support any and every positive thing your friend does. That’s literally the golden rule of friendship, and personally I’ve noticed a lack of support between friends from every which way. No, you aren’t obligated to, but it's a nice thing to do. Example, it looks fake as f*ck to constantly search for a MUA (make-up artist) when you know full and well your friend does makeup. For the sake of being particular about who touches your face or hair, cause I’m the same way, there’s multiple other ways to support. A simple retweet or share can go a long way, spreading the word, sharing business cards, there’s a whole plethora of ways to show your support. A simple like could help them more than you could imagine and even though you shouldn’t support looking for something in return, most people honor and return that same support & you might need it one day. Entering the world of entrepreneurship, music and art is difficult enough without support from friends. But most importantly, don’t be that person to be a bandwagon after that friend blows up.
Creator's POV
"PERSIST. Because with an idea, determination, and the right tools, you can do great things." -Unknown
For starters, you’re the best kind of person. If you’re reading this you had the bravery and courage to make a form of art and put it out into the world and I applaud you. But there’s definitely a lot of fake love you need to look out for. In the words of my friend Sabastian**, make your content for that one person or that couple of people that constantly show you love. Don’t focus on the lack of support or numbers and as hard as that may be it’s important not to get discouraged. The world is a better place with your music. The world is a better place with your art. The world is more productive and economically sound with your business. Keep doing what you love, don’t worry about the lack of support you get from “friends”, as much as I hate to say it the majority of your support will be from people you do not know. Learn how to differentiate friends from acquaintances, worst case scenario you’ll learn the hard way but no worries just bounce back :)
Remember to love yourself, trust the process & live happier
